Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.
City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for details.
An important official said the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
